The New Blight Killer update is on its way soon, so jump on this. Here’s how to gain access to the player test build of Dead By Daylight.
Dead By Daylight’s developers are incredibly generous with their updates. Players are often given access to test out new builds of the game for free. This builds hype for the upcoming changes and additions, as well as lets players see what they like and dislike about the game. Getting involved is a must for a great experience with the game.
Anyone can participate in the playtesting so long as they follow the proper procedures. This is unfortunately only something that is available to players on Steam. Console players will have to wait until the full release of the patch. The New Blight Killer update is on its way soon, so don’t worry. Here’s how to gain access to the player test build of Dead By Daylight.
Accessing the Player Test Build of Dead By Daylight
Getting involved with the playtesting for Dead By Daylight is simple for Steam players. The first thing players will need to do is close their application if it is open. Updates of this nature will not be able to process properly if the game is running. Secondly, players will need to find the game in their Steam account library. Right-Click the Dead By Daylight application in the library and select ‘Properties’.
Within the ‘Properties’ window, navigate to the ‘Beta’ tab. This is where all of the playtests will be listed. Select ‘Public-Test’ in this window and close everything down. The last thing players will want to do is restart Steam. This isn’t required, but this updates the UI of Steam and automatically starts your download of the testing content. This can also help avoid possible errors that may occur during the download. If players find themselves have issues, they may want to start by restarting everything if they haven’t already.
Opting Out of Play Testing in Dead By Daylight
Players may want to opt back out of future updates. These builds are often unstable and can change the player’s experience with the game as a whole. If the player wants to opt out all they have to do is return to the ‘Beta’ table and select ‘NONE – Opt-out of all beta programs’ from the drop-down menu. This will turn off the automatic downloads of pre-release content. Keep in mind, this may not return the player’s game back to normal. Players who wish to go back to the standard build may have to uninstall and reinstall the game on their PC.
Dead By Daylight is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
