Eagled eyed fans may have noticed a change to Kate’s look, and an area of her anatomy that never fails to spark admiration and speculation – her famously thick and lustrous hair. Her hair was pulled up and away from her face, a formal look for the occasion.
A celebrity stylist has suggested this change in the Duchess’s look is intentional and intended to be different to Meghan Markle’s look.
Meghan and Prince Harry had their own Remembrance Sunday event, laying wreaths in a cemetery in LA.
For the event Meghan wore her hair long and dark, flowing loose.
Frédéric Fekkai, celebrity stylist whose clients include Demi Moore, Hilary Clinton, Scarlett Johansson and Renee Zellweger, gave his professional opinion to Express.co.uk.
The expert is also the founder of FEKKAI sustainable, vegan haircare, available to buy in Selfridges and Feel Unique.
Can you replicate Kate’s Remembrance Day style at home? “It is not easy to do this style at home by yourself,” Frédéric warns.
He went on: “It is important to wash your hair with a glossing shampoo and use light conditioner like FEKKAI Brilliant Gloss shampoo and conditioner.
“Then you need to section hair in three parts. The top part from the corner of eyebrows through to the crown of the hair and the side parts.
“You must tease lightly the roots and apply texturizing spray to help support and hold the hair while working at it on the top section to add volume then brush it gently back and pin it in the middle of the back head.
“Then take the left side section and also tease lightly to give some cushion at the roots, brush it towards the back and roll it with the top section then secure it with hair and bobby pins, use texturizing spray to fix it.
“Do the same with right section and twist as you would do with French twist. Secure with hair pins and apply hair spray on your flat brush to finish smoothing hair. Adding very good hair spray such as Elnett only as the finishing touch.”
Fans praised the Duchess’s look. One said: “I’m becoming obsessed with how flawless Kate Middleton / Duchess of Cambridge is. She always looks immaculate, professional yet a hint of being approachable.”
Meghan wore a £16,000 ensemble to pay her respects.
Meghan Markle wore a pleated wool-twill and silk-organza coat from Brandon Maxwell, costing a whopping £3,335.
She wore a belt wrapped around the coat, thought to be from Elisabetta Franchi, which costs £237.
