TK Maxx was forced to close its stores across the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic, and its online store soon followed as the brand prioritised the safety of workers. However, the bargains giant has now reopened online and is fully transactional so customers can shop for home deliveries. But like many other stores there are restrictions in place.
Shoppers will be delighted to see that they can buy TK Maxx and Homesense products online as the store slowly gets back up and running for deliveries.
However, the brand has made a lot of changes to its policies in response to the coronavirus.
In an online statement, the store said: “Our online store is open and ready to take orders again, and we’re hoping it won’t be too long before we can re-open our stores.
“While we’re delighted to be taking new orders again online, our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our associates and customers, so we’ve made some significant changes to the way we work so we can continue to operate our business safely.”
The brand is keeping customers up to date with messaging across the site, and once the limit has been hit it displays the message: “We’re sorry but we have reached our daily order limit; you can no longer add to basket. Please come back tomorrow to place your order.”
The store is keeping staff safe with personal protective equipment, strict hygiene measures and ensuring a two-metre distance is kept at all times, using a one-way system in its fulfilment centre.
The chain has also introduced contactless delivery to minimise risks to customers through its partner, Hermes.
However, TK Maxx is also urging customers to have their order delivered to a safe place so that couriers are in even less contact with the public as they work.

All our European associates – from our stores, to our processing centres and offices – will have the opportunity to nominate local charities who are supporting the most vulnerable in their communities to receive a grant from this fund. “The second part of the programme is the Tackle Covid-19 Fund of £700,000 also funded by the Foundation. This will see donations to mental health charities and front line medical charities (NHS Charities Together in the UK and Red Cross in Poland, Germany and Ireland) supporting those impacted by Covid-19.
“It includes a donation that we already announced of £100,000 to the Retail Trust’s dedicated appeal ‘CaRe20’ in the UK, which works to provide emotional and practical support services to workers in the retail industry.
“This programme is in addition to a donation by the Foundation of £135,000 to the British Red Cross Disaster Relief Alliance, which helps ground-breaking global emergency response strategies and is being used to support those affected by the Covid-19 emergency globally.”
